Inspired by moire patterns, Alina was created as an exploration into the use of layered forms as a means to adjust light. Designed for the premium market, Alina is a decorative feature light that creates an emergence of light through the use of an intricate pattern and layered screens, adjusted by user interaction.

 

The steel screen has been treated with an oxide solution, creating a matte black finish that enhances the light pattern.  The wall light uses a rotating LED lit acrylic panel with  a vinyl overlay to create the changing pattern.
