The concept of the project was inspired from the interest in the manipulation of light, with aims to communicate how  an immaterial substance could be used to create a physical structure. The shadow chair was designed through investigating images of light casting shadows across buildings.

 

Formed from steel bar, the chair creates an aspect of illusion as the transformation of a shape from two to three dimensions creates a sense of intrigue and confusion.
